As I strolled in the countryside this morning, I watched the sun peeping through the grey clouds. Even though the weather was crisp, it didn’t feel cold. I walked for miles and reflected on how different this year has been and the challenges that have come with it. -

The feel of Autumn is all around us now with dramatic evening skies over West Cork bristling with light and crackling with energy, that lovely crisp early morning air and falling leaves already with us.
This is the time of year when my creativity gets a kick start after the lull of summer, on inspirational morning beach walks, splashing along the shoreline in my wellies or braving the blustering sea breeze on cliff top rambles or out on the stunning Old Head of Kinsale; the wind in my hair and the air wild with swirling leaves, the sound of waves crashing on the rocks below and gulls surfing the sky above my head.
Changing colours and textures of Autumn in Ireland are a real inspiration for my jewellery designs, when each leaf joins a riot of colour; every broken shell or shard of sand polished glass, ravaged by the waves of the Wild Atlantic Way and washed up amongst the shoreline driftwood and tangle of seaweed a dazzle of constantly changing energy.
